Effect of Homeopathy in Reflux Diseases in Pediatrics

with Dr. Nikhita Khandare
4/6/2026
pp. 12

Gastroesophageal reflux is a common condition in infants and young children that often leads to persistent crying, regurgitation, and feeding difficulties. This article discusses the role of homeopathy in managing reflux diseases in pediatric patients. Reflux occurs when stomach contents flow back into the esophagus, sometimes resulting in complications such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The condition may manifest through symptoms such as vomiting, irritability, poor feeding, and in some cases silent reflux where vomiting is not visibly present. The paper highlights the importance of ruling out serious medical conditions before initiating treatment and emphasizes supportive care for parents coping with the stress of caring for a constantly crying infant. It also explores possible contributing factors such as lactose intolerance and poor gut health, recommending dietary adjustments and probiotics as supportive measures. The article further presents several homeopathic remedies including Natrum Phos, Magnesium Phos, Aethusia, Phosphorus, Lycopodium, Silicea, Kali Carb, and Bryonia, which are selected based on the individual symptoms of the child. These remedies are suggested to help neutralize stomach acid, relieve digestive discomfort, and improve overall gastrointestinal function. The study emphasizes individualized treatment and holistic management to provide relief to infants suffering from reflux while also supporting parental well-being.

Objective: 1.This study was done to find time required for fracture healing in patients receiving conventional line of treatment by radiographical study and time required for healing in patient receiving symphytum officinale 30C along with conventional line of treatment by radiographical study. Material and Method: A Randomized Control Trial to explore the Effectiveness of Symphytum Officinale as an osteogenesis enhancer in undisplaced fracture was conducted at Motiwala Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, for a period of six months. Thirty cases of un-displaced fracture based on radiological examination were selected as per the inclusion criteria using simple randomization technique. Symphytum officinale 30C was prescribed in study group along with conventional line of treatment and the control group received only conventional line of treatment. X-ray was taken on 21st day and 45th day. The data was analyzed. Results: Study group consist of 15 patients in whom 3 cases showed early callus formation and 12 cases showed good callus formation in 21 days. Control group consist of 15 patient in which 8 cases showed good callus formation and 7 cases showed no callus formation in 21 days. Conclusion: The study conducted has explored the osteogenietic property of Homoeopathic remedy, Symphytum officinale has proved to promote calcification as early as 21st day in study group. Thus symphytum is an effective osteogenetic enhancer in undisplaced fractures, and can be an adjuvant to conventional line of treatment. More rigorous studies with large sample size are however desirable.

pp. 1

Janosia Ashoka, also known as Ashoka, is a well known medicinal plant widely used in traditional systems of medicine such as Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, and other therapeutic practices for the management of various gynecological disorders. The drug is primarily prepared from the bark and seeds of the Ashoka tree, belonging to the family Leguminaceae. Introduced into homoeopathic practice by Dr. N. D. Ray of Calcutta, Janosia Ashoka has been traditionally recognized for its beneficial effects on the female reproductive system. It is particularly useful in regulating menstrual disorders and strengthening the uterus. The bark of the Ashoka tree contains important chemical constituents such as acid tannin, catechin, and bitter principles which contribute to its therapeutic properties. Clinically, the remedy is employed in conditions such as leucorrhoea, amenorrhoea, metrorrhagia, dysmenorrhoea, uterine colic, urinary tract infections, and haemorrhoids. In addition to its gynecological benefits, the remedy also shows action on various systems including the digestive, urinary, and nervous systems. Symptoms associated with the remedy include weakness, emotional sensitivity, headaches, nasal catarrh, constipation, and urinary disturbances. In female patients, it is particularly indicated in irregular menstruation, pelvic pain, and abnormal vaginal discharge. Due to its uterine tonic properties, Ashoka has been traditionally considered beneficial for improving reproductive health and supporting conception. Thus, Janosia Ashoka remains an important remedy in homoeopathic materia medica for the management of menstrual and uterine disorders.

Premature Menopause - An Underdiagnosed Issue

with Sneha Tidke, Sayli Gunjal, Chaitali Tile, Priyanka riyanka

pp. 18

Premature menopause, also known as premature ovarian failure (POF), is an underdiagnosed reproductive health issue affecting women under the age of 40. Unlike natural menopause, which usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55 years, premature menopause leads to an early loss or dysfunction of ovarian activity. Recent surveys in India have indicated an increasing prevalence of early menopause among younger women, highlighting the growing concern regarding women’s health and hormonal imbalance. Premature ovarian failure occurs when the ovaries stop functioning properly, resulting in irregular ovulation and hormonal disturbances. Although women with POF may still have some ovarian follicles, these follicles either fail to mature or function effectively. Several factors such as genetic conditions, autoimmune disorders, cancer treatments, thyroid dysfunction, viral infections, and lifestyle related stress may contribute to the condition, although in many cases the exact cause remains unknown. Common symptoms include irregular menstrual cycles, hot flashes, night sweats, decreased sexual drive, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and weight fluctuations. Diagnosis is primarily based on hormonal evaluation, particularly elevated levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) measured through blood tests. Although premature menopause cannot be reversed, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is commonly used to manage symptoms and reduce long term health risks such as osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. Early diagnosis and appropriate medical management are essential to improve the quality of life and overall health outcomes of affected women.

Paper Title: Aumway

with Mrs. Smita Bhardwaj
4/6/2026
pp. 1+

AUM, also known as OM, is considered the primordial sound and the root of all mantras in spiritual and yogic traditions. Mantras are specific combinations of words that create vibrations capable of influencing both the environment and the human mind. Chanting AUM repeatedly is believed to produce positive mental, emotional, and physiological effects. The syllable AUM consists of three components: A, U, and M, which are recited in a continuous flow rather than as separate sounds. Each component generates vibrations in different parts of the body. The sound “A” produces vibrations around the umbilical region associated with the Manipur chakra, “U” creates vibrations in the throat area linked to the Vishuddha chakra, and “M” produces vibrations in the cranial cavity associated with the Sahasrar chakra. Regular chanting of AUM has a calming and tranquilizing effect on the mind, helping individuals improve concentration, memory, and emotional balance. It also strengthens vocal cords and enhances the efficiency of body cells and organs through vibrational stimulation. Practicing AUM chanting in a clean, peaceful environment, preferably before sunrise and in suitable postures such as Padmasana, Vajrasana, or Swastikasana, enhances its effectiveness. The practice also involves focusing on the sound and visualizing the symbol of AUM to achieve deeper levels of meditation. Ultimately, AUM chanting promotes mental clarity, reduces fatigue, and supports overall physical, emotional, and spiritual well being.
