Homeopathy And Allergic Rhinitis In Paediatrics

Dr. Ulka Hiray

Allergic rhinitis is a common inflammatory condition of the nasal mucosa frequently observed in children. It is characterized by symptoms such as nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing, itching, and conjunctival irritation. The condition is considered a major chronic pediatric disorder due to its high prevalence and associated co morbidities. Allergic rhinitis is broadly classified into seasonal and perennial types depending on the duration and triggering allergens. Studies indicate that the highest incidence occurs among children aged two to ten years, with males showing a slightly higher susceptibility. The pathophysiology involves immunological hypersensitivity where allergens stimulate IgE bound mast cells, leading to the release of inflammatory mediators such as histamine and resulting in typical allergic symptoms. Environmental factors such as pollen, air pollution, and chemical irritants may aggravate the condition. Homoeopathy offers a holistic and individualized approach to the management of allergic rhinitis by selecting remedies based on the patient’s constitutional characteristics and symptom totality. Constitutional homoeopathic medicines aim to strengthen the body’s immune response and reduce both the frequency and intensity of allergic episodes. Clinical observations suggest that properly selected homoeopathic remedies provide significant relief in pediatric allergic rhinitis while minimizing the adverse effects often associated with conventional medications.

Effectiveness of Natrum muriaticum in treatment of gall stones -a case report

Dr. G.B.Prasad

A female patient aged 58 years, came with a USG report with multiple gall stones. She suffered an episode of pain abdomen in right Hypochondriac region. Her family physician suggested USG of Abdomen, which revealed multiple gall stones with echogenic changes in gall bladder of the patient. The author treated the patient on the basis of symptom similarity of the case to the Homoeopathic Individualized medicine, Natrum muriaticum. During follow Up of the case it was seen conclusively that the Homoeopathic remedy Natrum muriaticum is effective in reducing the number of gall stones.

A Case Report Of Chronic Low Back Pain

Tarika Vaidya

“Chronic low back pain” signifies at least 12 week of pain in low back. About 80% of adults experience low back pain at some point in their life. It is the most common cause of job related disability and a leading contributor to missed work days. As part of the global burden of disease study (GBD) 2010, the expert group showed that low back pain is among the top ten high burden diseases and injuries, with an average number DALYs (disability-adjusted life years)higher than HIV, road injuries, tuberculosis, lung cancer, COPD. In this study, we tried to explore the common homoeopathic medicine and its effects in cases of chronic low back pain. We hope our study provides the students and readers with the proper acknowledgement of chronic low back pain and homoeopathic approach towards it.

Diet & Homoeopathy

Miss Shubhada Kulkarni

Diet plays a vital role in maintaining health and supporting the healing process in medical treatment. The importance of diet has been emphasized since ancient times by Hippocrates, who stated that food itself can act as medicine. In homoeopathic practice, dietary regulation is considered an essential supportive factor for effective treatment. Homoeopathy uses highly diluted medicines administered in very small doses; therefore, substances that may interfere with their action should be avoided. Certain foods, strong flavors, stimulants, and lifestyle factors may reduce the effectiveness of homoeopathic remedies. Patients undergoing homoeopathic treatment are advised to follow a balanced and simple diet tailored to their individual condition. Avoiding incompatible foods, limiting stimulants such as coffee and tobacco, and consuming adequate nutrients help enhance the therapeutic response. During some stages of treatment, temporary aggravation of symptoms may occur, and appropriate dietary management can support recovery during this period. The article emphasizes that a well balanced diet consisting of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and sufficient water contributes significantly to improving the effectiveness of homoeopathic therapy and promoting overall well being.

Upbringing Alone Shapes Human Children

Dr. Vaishali Zodgekar

Human behavior and abilities are often believed to be determined by inherited genetic traits; however, scientific understanding of human development highlights the critical role of upbringing and environmental influence. Unlike other mammals, human infants are born at an early developmental stage due to evolutionary adaptations related to increased brain size and the limitations of the human birth canal. As a result, much of the human brain’s growth and functional development occurs during the first few years of life outside the womb. Because the brain is not fully programmed at birth, most human behaviors are not instinctive but learned through interaction with parents, caregivers, and society. This early developmental period allows children to acquire language, habits, values, and skills through observation and education. Consequently, upbringing and cultural environment play a decisive role in shaping personality, behavior, and achievements. The human brain’s remarkable capacity for learning and adaptation creates vast possibilities for individual development, emphasizing that social and educational influences during formative years are more significant than biological pedigree in determining human potential and accomplishments.
