with Dr Anand Sunil Nikam
4/3/2026
pp. 59

Psoriasis is a chronic, non infectious inflammatory skin disorder characterized by erythematous plaques covered with silvery scales and commonly affecting extensor surfaces such as elbows, knees, and scalp. The condition often follows a relapsing and remitting course and may significantly affect the quality of life of patients. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of homoeopathic medicines in the management of psoriasis cases treated after 2018. A total of 45 cases of psoriasis belonging to the age group of 10 to 60 years and of both sexes were included in the study. Patients were treated with individualized homoeopathic medicines based on symptom similarity and constitutional characteristics. Various remedies such as Arsenicum album, Graphites, Sepia, Sulphur, Petroleum, and Psorinum were prescribed according to the presenting symptoms and patient constitution. The results of the study indicated that 91% of cases showed improvement following homoeopathic treatment, while 6.66% of cases showed no improvement and 2.2% showed minimal improvement. The findings suggest that homoeopathic treatment may provide beneficial outcomes in the management of psoriasis by addressing both physical symptoms and underlying constitutional factors. Further large scale and controlled studies are recommended to validate these findings.

pp. 48

Breast pathology represents an important public health concern in women’s health, requiring early detection and awareness to reduce complications. A community based breast pathology survey and medical camp was conducted on 2 September 2023 in Dhruv Nagar, Satpur, under the coordination of the Departments of Community Medicine, Repertory and Case Taking, and Surgery of Motiwala (National) Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital. The program aimed to screen women for pathological conditions of the breast, create awareness regarding breast health, and educate participants about self breast examination (SBE). Prior to the survey, IV BHMS students received training and demonstration on SBE techniques. A structured questionnaire and screening process were used during the camp. A total of 327 women from different age groups participated in the screening program. The survey included breast examination, awareness sessions, and educational discussions about risk factors and the importance of regular checkups. Several early breast abnormalities were identified during screening, and participants with suspicious findings were referred for further evaluation and treatment at the hospital. The awareness campaign significantly improved knowledge about breast health and self examination among participants and students. The initiative highlights the importance of community outreach programs in promoting early detection and preventive health practices.

The data was statistically analyzed using unpaired‘t’ test RESULT: Table value of t for 45 degrees of freedom is 2.02 at 5% (0.05) level of significance. Calculated value of t = 2.48 is greater than the table value at 5% level of significance. After the study we saw that Abroma Augusta Ø along with OHA was more effective in reducing the symptoms of the patient as compared to oral hypoglycaemic agents alone. Gout, a form of inflammatory arthritis, poses significant challenges in its management due to limited efficacy and adverse effects associated with conventional therapies. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of Bacillus no.7, a probiotic agent, and individualized homeopathic medicine in the treatment of gout. A comparative interventional study was conducted on 46 patients diagnosed with gout, systematically assigned to two groups: Group A receiving individualized homeopathic medicine , Group B receiving Bacillus no. 7. ACR EULAR Criteria was utililized for screening the potential patients of gout. The primary outcome measures serum uric acid levels, assessed at baseline and follow-up visits over a period of 6 months. Secondary outcomes encompassed reduction in intensity of pain (using NPRS). Statistical analysis revealed significant improvements in pain intensity and serum uric acid levels in both intervention groups. However, significant difference was observed between Bacillus no.7 and individualized homeopathic medicine groups in terms of efficacy. Furthermore, both interventions demonstrated a favorable safety profile with minimal adverse effects. Overall, our findings suggests that individualized homeopathic medicine may offer promising alternative therapeutic options for managing gout as compared to Bacillus no.7, warranting further investigation into their mechanisms of action and long-term effects.[1][4]

A Literature Review on Fibromyalgia with its Homoeopathic Management

with Dr. MohiniGhanghas
4/3/2026
pp. 20-29

Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic primary pain syndrome characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, cognitive dysfunction, and psychological distress. It is classified under ICD-11 as nociplastic pain and represents the second most common rheumatic disorder. The condition often coexists with other chronic overlapping pain syndromes such as irritable bowel syndrome, temporomandibular disorder, and chronic headache, implicating central nervous system dysregulation in its pathophysiology. Diagnosis relies on the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria, revised in 2016, which emphasize the Widespread Pain Index (WPI) and Symptom Severity Score (SSS). Conventional management includes analgesics, antidepressants, and muscle relaxants, though these are associated with significant side effects. Homoeopathy offers individualized treatment options, with studies demonstrating improvements in pain, tender point count, quality of life, and mood. Remedies such as Rhus toxicodendron, Arnica, Cimicifuga, Bryonia, Ruta, Kali carbonicum, Kalmia, and Gelsemium are highlighted for their efficacy in addressing fibromyalgia symptoms. This review underscores the importance of holistic management approaches, integrating homoeopathy to improve functional outcomes and patient well-being.

with Dr. Virendra Jain, Dr. Sheetal Kumawat, Dr. Pranjal Patil
4/3/2026
pp. 30-38

Liver diseases, including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and cirrhosis, are prevalent globally and can arise from various etiologies such as obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, hepatitis infections, autoimmune disorders, cholestatic conditions, and metabolic overloads of iron or copper. Liver cirrhosis, characterized by the formation of regenerative nodules surrounded by fibrous bands and progressive hepatic dysfunction, often leads to severe complications such as variceal bleeding, portal hypertension, and coagulopathy. Traditional management typically involves addressing these complications through conventional medical approaches. This case report presents the management of a patient with liver cirrhosis and its complications using a homeopathic treatment approach. By focusing on the totality of symptoms rather than isolated manifestations, homeopathic treatment aims to address the underlying imbalance and promote overall health. The report highlights the therapeutic process, patient response, and outcomes, providing insights into the potential role of homeopathy in managing complex liver cirrhosis cases.
