Navigating Anaesthesia with Homoeopathy: A Holistic Approach to Perioperative Care

Dr. Stuti Rastogi

This article explores the evolving discourse on the integration of homoeopathic system of medicine in perioperative care, focusing on the holistic management of patients throughout the surgical journey. Rooted in Samuel Hahnemann’s principles of individualized treatment and stimulation of the body’s healing mechanisms, homoeopathy operates on the premise that “like cures like.” Contemporary applications include addressing preoperative anxiety with medicines such as Aconitum napellus and Gelsemium sempervirens, and utilizing Arnica montana for its reputed anti-inflammatory properties during the intraoperative phase. The optimization of intraoperative comfort through homeopathy is discussed, highlighting the potential benefits of Arnica montana in minimizing side effects. Postoperative recovery involves holistic pain management using medicines like Hypericum perforatum for nerve pain and Staphysagria for wound healing. The integration of homoeopathy with conventional anaesthesia, supported by medicine like Avena sativa for sedation, showcases a comprehensive approach to enhance patient well-being. It is concluded that further more comprehensive research is warranted to explore the role of homoeopathic medicines in perioperative care.

Study of efficacy of Homoeopathic Medicines in Management of Psoriasis cases treated after 2018: a retrospective study.

Dr Anand Sunil Nikam

Psoriasis is a chronic, non infectious inflammatory skin disorder characterized by erythematous plaques covered with silvery scales and commonly affecting extensor surfaces such as elbows, knees, and scalp. The condition often follows a relapsing and remitting course and may significantly affect the quality of life of patients. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of homoeopathic medicines in the management of psoriasis cases treated after 2018. A total of 45 cases of psoriasis belonging to the age group of 10 to 60 years and of both sexes were included in the study. Patients were treated with individualized homoeopathic medicines based on symptom similarity and constitutional characteristics. Various remedies such as Arsenicum album, Graphites, Sepia, Sulphur, Petroleum, and Psorinum were prescribed according to the presenting symptoms and patient constitution. The results of the study indicated that 91% of cases showed improvement following homoeopathic treatment, while 6.66% of cases showed no improvement and 2.2% showed minimal improvement. The findings suggest that homoeopathic treatment may provide beneficial outcomes in the management of psoriasis by addressing both physical symptoms and underlying constitutional factors. Further large scale and controlled studies are recommended to validate these findings.

Survey report on Pathological condition of Breast & Medical Camp

Author 1

Breast pathology represents an important public health concern in women’s health, requiring early detection and awareness to reduce complications. A community based breast pathology survey and medical camp was conducted on 2 September 2023 in Dhruv Nagar, Satpur, under the coordination of the Departments of Community Medicine, Repertory and Case Taking, and Surgery of Motiwala (National) Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital. The program aimed to screen women for pathological conditions of the breast, create awareness regarding breast health, and educate participants about self breast examination (SBE). Prior to the survey, IV BHMS students received training and demonstration on SBE techniques. A structured questionnaire and screening process were used during the camp. A total of 327 women from different age groups participated in the screening program. The survey included breast examination, awareness sessions, and educational discussions about risk factors and the importance of regular checkups. Several early breast abnormalities were identified during screening, and participants with suspicious findings were referred for further evaluation and treatment at the hospital. The awareness campaign significantly improved knowledge about breast health and self examination among participants and students. The initiative highlights the importance of community outreach programs in promoting early detection and preventive health practices.

Utility of Synthesis Repertory version 9.0, in analysis homoeopathic veterinary cases: A Literature Review

Dr. Ankita M. Surve

Veterinary homoeopathy is an emerging complementary medical system that applies the principles of homoeopathy to the treatment of animal diseases. The concept of “like cures like,” introduced by Samuel Hahnemann, forms the fundamental basis of this therapeutic approach. The present literature review focuses on the utility of Synthesis Repertory version 9.0 in the analysis and repertorization of homoeopathic veterinary cases. Homoeopathy has been widely used in managing both acute and chronic ailments in animals, including skin disorders, respiratory diseases, renal conditions, infections, and injuries. The study highlights the evolution of veterinary homoeopathy, its global development, and its growing acceptance in several countries. Particular emphasis is given to systematic case taking, repertorization methods, and the proposed Homoeopathic Veterinary Case Analysis Scale (HVCAS) for evaluating the health status of animals during initial consultation and follow-ups. The review also discusses the cost effectiveness, safety, and non toxic nature of homoeopathic remedies, which do not leave harmful residues in animal bodies. Findings from previous studies and clinical observations suggest that homoeopathic treatment can improve recovery, enhance quality of life, and support overall animal welfare. The application of Synthesis Repertory version 9.0 therefore plays an important role in accurate remedy selection and structured analysis of veterinary cases. The review concludes that integrating repertory based analysis with proper veterinary examination can enhance the effectiveness and scientific approach of homoeopathic veterinary practice.
