To find the effectiveness of Homoeopathic Medicines in Reducing the duration intensity and frequency in attacks of Migraine and assessing the improvement in quality of life in the age group 15-60 years.

Miss. Srushti Gosavi,, Miss. Nehal Bhanushali, Miss. Roshni Pathan

Migraine is a neurological disease which usually causes a pulsating, throbbing headache on one side of the head. The pain may be extremely bad and hurt so much that a person may have a hard time following his routine. Not every person who is diagnosed with migrane suffers with headache. There are different kinds of migraines, and some do not cause a headache but do have symptoms. Most migraines cause headache and nausea and might make the person dizzy or very sensitive to bright lights or loud noises. Some people have "auras" before a migraine starts, which means their vision becomes different. Patients may see funny patterns, have blurry vision, or may not be able to see at all. Other senses can change before or during a migraine, and the patient may sense funny smells or tastes. Migraines can last for a long time. Migraines usually last between four and 72 hours. Modern medicine doesn’t know the cause of onset of this disorder hence cannot figure out a curative treatment for the same. Objectives: To improve the quality of life of patients suffering from migraine after homoeopathic prescription and to study the efficacy of homoeopathic medicines in cases of migraine. Materials and methods: The study is a case series was carried out in 45 patients within the age group of 15 to 60 years suffering from migraine fitting the inclusion criteria were prescribed individualized homoeopathic medicines for migraine and followed for a period of 6 months. The outcome assessment was done by scores before and after treatment. Result: At the end of the study it was observed that out of 45 patients, 37 patients improved (82%). The average age of the patients taken into consideration was 28.9 which is mostly the age where people are at their peak of career and need to be as productive as possible. Migraine limits their productivity to a great extent, usually more than 50%. Out of the 45 cases studied, only 12 were males (27%) and 33 patients were females (73%), hence the prevalence was more in females than males. The commonest used medicines were Natrum mur, Ignitia, Pulsatilla, Nux vomica and Arsenic album. Conclusion: There is a broad scope of homoeopathy in the treatment of migraine in improvement of quality of life by reducing the intensity, duration, and frequency of episodes.

Drug Proving in Homoeopathy, an essential component in Health Care Management

Dr. Varsha U.Dharane, Dr. Mrs. Rita Kundu, Dr. Suhail Sheikh, Dr. Vishal Nimbhore, Dr. Sonali Rohom

‘Drug Proving' is a method, unique to Homoeopathy where the pathogenesis of a drug is evolved through its trials on apparently Healthy Human Provers. Drug proving is the process of acquiring knowledge of instruments intended for the cure of natural disease (Aphorism - 105)5 Objective: To find out the pathogenetic effects of an Araucaria Columnaris on healthy human beings. Methodology: Randomised double blind placebo controlled study. It is recommended to have at least 50 provers who can complete the total duration. The provers divided into 2 group one medicinal group (Araucaria Columnaris) which consist 25 provers and another placebo group with 25 provers. Record were maintained of both group, then the analysis was done and characteristic symptoms of Araucaria Columnaris were identified. Result:Since only one prover from medicinal group experienced symptom out of 25 provers. Therefore, we rejected alternate hypothesis. Conclusion: As only 2 provers showed few symptoms, from which one prover was from placebo group and another one was from medicinal group which experienced few symptoms which were not so prominent to be considered as pathogenic symptoms of Araucaria columnaris 3X. So we concluded that Araucaria columnaris 3X does not give pathogenic symptoms on healthy human being of both sexes.

Management of simple Myopia with Homoeopathic Medicine Ruta Graveolens 30 in the age group of 8 – 30 years in both sexes- A Randomized control trial

Dr. Mita Gharte, Dr. G.B.Prasad, Dr. Subhash Yadav, Dr. Smitha Nair, Dr. Vaishali Zodgekar, Dr. Ashwini Aher, Dr. Noozat Shaikh, Int. Brijesh Trivedi, Int. Deep Mandali, Int. Shraddha Tare

Increased incidences of myopia, especially in Asian countries, have been attributed to excess near work. Topical use of Atropine was effective in controlling myopia but has got side effects and rebound effects after stopping the treatment. Myopia treatment has come a long way from glasses/contact lenses to advanced minimally invasive refractive procedures and tremendous improvement in technology and increased dependence on digital devices, control of myopia progression remains a big challenge. Homoeopathy mentions Ruta graveolens (Ruta) 30 for myopia with its action on accommodation. Aim: The aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of Ruta Graveolens 30 in terms of static, reducing, or improvingvisual acuity in cases of simple myopia in the age group of 8-30 yrs. in both sexes. Materials and Methods: A total of 320 subjects were screened by Dioptric Test and Vision acuity by Snellen chart, 52 subjects who were diagnosed to have simple myopia were divided into 2 groups by Lottery method sampling, where one group was treated with Ruta graveolens 30 and another group with Placebo, out of 52 subjects 6 subjects were dropped during follow-up. 46 cases of simple myopia from the aged 8–30 years were studied by randomised control method. before the study symptoms were recorded according to the Myopic questionnaire, Dioptric Test and Vision acuity. For the study group Ruta 30 and for the Control group Placebo was given in BD oral dose for 1 day & repeated after every 15 days for 3 months, thereafter, treatment was discontinued. After stopping treatment again symptoms were recorded. Design: This is a randomized, single-blinded, experimental study. Results: Before the study, the mean of the study group was -2.11 D (Right eye) -1.72 D (Left eye), while in the placebo group -2.23D (Right eye) -1.95 D (Left Eye). The difference in means between the two groups of -0.12 (Right eye) and -0.23 (Left Eye). In Dioptric Test, marked improvement was seen in 14 (60.86%) subjects in the study group where the average reduction in dioptric number was -0.75 D, and in 3 (13.04%) subjects’ Dioptric number was static but in 6 (26.08%) subjects no improvement was seen. In visual acuity, 9 (39.13%) subjects show mark improvement with a reduction in visual acuity by 6/3, and 12 (52.17%) subjects show static numbers whereas 2 (8.69%) subjects show an increase in Visual acuity. The mean change after 3 months was 1.91 (Right Eye) and -1.65 (Left Eye) inthe Ruta group and 1.91(Right Eye) and -1.65 (Left Eye) in the placebo group respectively and the difference in their means of -0.34 (Right eye) -0.61 (Left Eye). Conclusion: The results of this study show that the use of Ruta 30 in BD orally dose for 1 day & repetition after every 15 days for 3 months has reduced significantly Myopic progression as compared to the Placebo Group.

Effectiveness of Homoeopathic Medicines in the treatment of Different types of Warts - a case series study

Dr. Sachin Bhalerao, Dr. Swanand Shukla, Dr. Khozem Lokhandwala, Dr. Ajay Valke, Dr. Sharmila Roy, Dr. Deepali Paraskar, Dr. Gitanjalee Pawar

As we know, skin is the mirror of the soul! This understanding forms the basis of homeopathic management of skin disorders. In modern medicine, warts are understood to be caused by an infection with the human papillomavirus. Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) under the Papillomavirus family are common agents for producing skin warts in adults; as well as in children, throughout the globe. As a principle, homeopathic treatment is based on understanding of the patient as a whole. Homeopathic science believes the there is an internal propensity to diseases along with external virulence. Warts can be categorised under local maladies which signify those changes and ailments that appear on the external parts of the body and as mentioned in aph. 189 and aph. 193, local maladies cannot arise persist or even grow worse without some internal cause. So, for the treatment of these affections, an internal medicine should be selected on the basis of totality of symptoms. Chronic diseases are classified into three main categories of miasms, namely, psora (itch), sycosis (condyloma), and syphilis (chancre or bubo). Warts come under sycosis miasm. The ultimate goal of every homoeopathic prescriber should be to achieve the cure by any mean but cure should always be based on the fundamentals of homoeopathy and regulations of organon of medicine. Objectives: To find out the commonest type of wart prevalent and to find out the common homoeopathic remedies prescribed for warts.

Homoeopathic Management of Bronchial Asthma: A Literature Review

Dr.Smita Singh

Bronchial asthma is a chronic, heterogeneous respiratory disorder characterized by airway inflammation, hyper-responsiveness, and variable airflow limitation. It remains a significant global health burden, affecting both adults and children, with prevalence steadily increasing over decades. Conventional management relies on bronchodilators, corticosteroids, and oxygen therapy, yet long-term control remains challenging. Homoeopathy approaches asthma by addressing both exciting and fundamental causes, often linked to chronic miasmatic backgrounds such as psoric and sycotic origins. Individualized homoeopathic remedies—including Arsenicum album, Blatta americana, Ipecacuanha, and Kali carbonicum—are prescribed based on susceptibility, clinical presentation, and underlying predisposition. While research evidence is limited, observational studies suggest potential benefits of homoeopathy in reducing exacerbations and improving quality of life. This review highlights the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, conventional treatment, and homoeopathic perspectives on asthma management, emphasizing the need for further clinical trials to establish efficacy and integration into holistic care.

Homoeopathy and Cancer: An Alternative Approach towards the path of Healing

Dr.Yogeshwari Gupta, Dr.Stuti Rastogi

Homoeopathy is a holistic system of medicine rooted on the principle of “Similia Similibus Curentur”. It has gained attention for its potential therapeutic benefits. It offers a holistic approach that addresses both the physical symptoms and emotional well-being of individuals. While this alternative approach of healing has been explored in various health contexts, a notable gap remains in understanding its application in the realm of cancer care. This review seeks to fill this void by exploring the broader landscape of homoeopathy’s principles and applications. Through a critical examination of existing research and evidence, it aims to offer valuable insights into the potential role of homoeopathy as a complementary approach in cancer care and symptomatic relief. This review underscores the need for further research and a more nuanced understanding of homoeopathy’s place in healthcare, particularly in the context of cancer patients and their well being.
