The first International Seminar on Homoeopathy and Auxiliary therapies in Oncology was held with a vision and mission to bring the collective thinking on one platform and to evolve a suitable multidisciplinary protocol for treatment of cancer patients, to help them overcome pain and emerge stronger, livelier and happier! The seminar had 16 interactive sessions of Cancer Research and treatment protocols on 15th, 16th and 17th February, 2019. The seminar witnessed about 300 delegates includes Homoeopathy researchers, Practitioners, academicians and P.G. scholars. The Key note speakers were Molecular Biology scientists, International Homoeopathic practitioners, Natural therapist, Ayurvedic therapists and expert in pranic healing. The key note presentations delivered information on recent Molecular biology research on Cancer stem cells and challenges in treatment of cancer. Different protocols of cancer management through Homoeopathic medicines were highlighted. The utility of natural therapeutic agents, modern views of Ayurvedic treatment and auxiliary therapies were also presented by the experts.

Dr. Priyanka Lunkad

Acne vulgaris is the most common skin disorder. The peak incidence is between 16 to 18 years in women and 16 to 19 years in men. Usually the incidence decreases after teens, but sometimes it may persist even in the thirties.1 The effects of Acne vulgaris on patients is diverse and vary from psychological effects like withdrawal, developmental problems, depression and anxiety to physical effects like scarring and disfigurement. Modern medicine provide just a temporary relief. With the use of most suitable homoeopathic medicine, acne vulgaris can be properly treated. The case reported here is that of very severe acne vulgaris according to global acne score in an 18 year old girl who was successfully treated with homoeopathic medicine. Patient was observed for 8 months, in these 8 months her acne score reduced from 39 to 2.

Homoeopathic Medicines As Adjuvant Therapy In The Management Of Bleeding Episodes And Pain In Hemophilics

Tapas Kundu, Afroz Shaikh, Afzal Kutty, Aparna Nalavade, Sudhir Kulkarni, Ranjana Kulkarni, Kanjaksha Ghosh

Hemophilia is an X linked hereditary bleeding disorder characterized by a deficiency of clotting factors, resulting in defective blood coagulation and recurrent bleeding episodes. Approximately 90 percent of severe hemophilia patients live in developing countries where access to adequate health care resources is limited. Conventional management primarily involves clotting factor infusion and physiotherapy, but the high cost of factor replacement therapy makes it difficult for many patients in countries like India to receive adequate treatment or prophylaxis. In addition, safe and effective pain management options are limited. In this context, the present study evaluated the efficacy of homoeopathic medicines in the management of bleeding episodes among hemophilia patients through a double blind placebo controlled trial. A total of 53 patients with Hemophilia A and B were initially treated with standard management along with placebo homoeopathic medicines for one year, followed by the same treatment combined with active homoeopathic medicines during the subsequent year. Outcomes were assessed by blind evaluators based on the frequency of bleeding episodes, duration of healing, requirement of clotting factors, and pain score ratings. Homoeopathic medicines were selected by experienced physicians based on constitutional and acute symptom presentation. The results demonstrated significant improvement in the frequency and severity of bleeding episodes, healing duration, pain scores, and reduction in the requirement of blood products. The findings suggest that individualized homoeopathic treatment may contribute to improved quality of life and reduced economic burden for hemophilia patients when used alongside standard medical care.

Homoeopathy As An Immune Booster

Dr. Ruta Patharkar

A strong immune system plays a vital role in maintaining health and protecting the body from infections caused by bacteria, viruses, and fungi. The immune response acts as a natural defense mechanism that regulates inflammation and eliminates harmful toxins from the body. This article discusses the role of homoeopathy as a natural immunomodulatory therapy that supports and strengthens the body's defense system. According to homoeopathic philosophy, disease begins with the weakening of the immune system and eventually leads to physical pathology. Homoeopathy works on the principle of “similia similibus curentur,” where highly diluted substances are used to stimulate the body's natural healing response. Rather than targeting a specific pathogen, homoeopathic remedies are selected based on the individual’s unique symptom pattern and constitutional characteristics. These medicines are believed to enhance the body’s immune response by either stimulating a depressed immune system or regulating an overactive immune response, as observed in autoimmune conditions. Studies have suggested that certain remedies such as Silicea may influence immune cells like macrophages, although the exact mechanism of action remains unclear. Homoeopathic medicines are considered safe, gentle, and suitable for individuals of all ages, including children. By promoting balance within the body and supporting natural defense mechanisms, homoeopathy offers a holistic approach to strengthening immunity and maintaining overall health.
